About Georgian Arabians
Georgian Arabians is a privately owned Arabian Stud Farm with acres of exquisite pastureland. It is set in the West Country of England in the rolling hills and wilds of Exmoor National Park, home to the romantic tales of Lorna Doone.
It has an excellent indoor arena and stabling for 50 horses. Nearly all the boxes are filled. Most of the inhabitants are owned by Georgian Arabians, the exceptions are a few special horses in residence for production and management.
Owner, Susan George, best known for her illustrious film career, particularly her highly-acclaimed performance in "Straw Dogs", has been a horse enthusiast practically all her life. She rode in childhood and bought her first Arabian horse in California in 1971. Her desire to own and breed the Arabian horse has evolved through dedication and commitment.

Fifteen years ago, she and her husband, fellow actor, Simon MacCorkindale, set up Georgian Arabians, which is fast becoming a world-class establishment.
Susan George is infectiously passionate about the Arabian horse and one of her greatest ambitions is to infuse this upon others in the hope that they will become like-minded.
“The beauty of the Arabian horse is unique,” she says. “They are loyal and smart. They have breathtaking spirit, fly like the wind and their extravagant movement is an extraordinary sight.
They perform at the drop of a hat for our pleasure and, for all who know this breed, their own. They are versatile and excel in almost any sphere. Above all, they are the best of family, the best of friends.” |

Essteem
The Influence of a Super Star
Seven years ago, Georgian Arabians welcomed the arrival of the enigmatic Triple Crown Champion, ESSTEEM by Fame VF x Espressa {El Shaklan}.
His presence at the farm has had a profound influence on the breeding programme and he has become the cornerstone. In 2003, he returned to Ferdinand and Gerlinda Huemer and his Austrian homeland.
His kind and supreme presence, unforgettable in the form of a legacy of exceptional offspring, is now truly making its mark.
2004 saw the arrival of our first Essteem progeny on the show circuit and our yearling colt SG Spirit of Essteem out of Malikeh El Sakeena surpassed all our expectations becoming British National Champion Junior Male.

British Nationals 2004, SG Spirit of Essteem class winner and Best Yearling title, went on to become British National Junior Male Champion and then Reserve Supreme of the Show.

Borneo Progeny -
A Winning Formula
In 2003, SG Boranya (Borneo x Luzhana) daughter of our much-loved foundation mare, Luzhana, made her incredible mark on the show world.
Her first time out, winning Best Yearling at Wales and West C Show and then her title of Reserve Junior Female Champion. Her successful year continued with a Reserve Junior Female Champion at The Nationals and Top 5, Reserve to the Reserve of our International Show, UKIAHS. The picture to the left says it all!
After the birth of Boranya in 2002, preceded by five colts in a row, we simply could not believe our luck when in June 2004, Luzhana presented us with another amazing gift - SG Bliss, a full sister to Boranya. She is an exquisitely feminine filly, with outstanding movement and type.

Georgian Arabians - true quality mares of Russian, Polish, Crabbet, Spanish and Egyptian descent.
"Breeding is all about personal vision. Vision is not, of course, tangible until it is a reality. From one year to the next the breeding season begins with a feeling of anticipation.
It is not until the foals are on the ground that you know if you have been successful and, of course, beauty is so often in the eye of the beholder. I have never been a follower of fashion. I like to think we are breeding a type of Arabian that is identifiable. I have tremendous admiration for renowned breeders, past and present who have had such an impact on the breed. My hope is that one day Georgian Arabians, too, will make its mark". Susan George |

The King of Georgian Arabians is our Golden Boy, veteran Artist {Aswan x Stihia}. Now 27 years young he is one of the few remaining sons of his legendary sire.
Artist's Dam, the divine Stihia, died in 2006 at 33 years of age.
" The Iron Horse" as he was described at the Tersk Stud in Russia, Artist is stupendous in stature and beauty. A shining Kuhaylan Arabian, producing athletic in-hand and under saddle horses, much desired in the marketplace.

Past stallion influences have included Straight Egyptian, MA Alishah {Ruminaja Ali x AK Shagat), sire of our beautiful broodmare Haiti Shaklana, whose grandfather is also Ruminaja Ali.
In 2003, we produced and exhibited the black beauty, AH Kuda {Pilot x My Midnite Dancer} with much success. He sired for us two exceptionally typey colts, both in a class of their own. One, a bay, out of Pustinja (Neman x Phoniza), SG Kai and, the other, a true black colt out of Straight Egyptian, Inaya Bint Atticus (The Atticus x MB Dhakeena), SG Indigo (pictured left).
